Vine's creators unveil new live streaming app called Hype
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 3 November 2016 | Categories: newsLast week, Twitter decided to pull the plug on Vine. While the six second video app's future is still up in the air, with the likes of PornHub vying to purchase it, the creators behind Vine have already moved on to their latest project - Hype.
The new app is designed for live streaming, but also integrates music photos and other videos into the live stream. Furthermore, Hype users will be able to customise their layout, according to co-creators Colin Kroll and Rus Yupusov. Added to this will be interaction with live stream viewers, akin to Periscope and Facebook Live, with messages and comments appearing on the live stream.
While we haven't tested out Hype just yet, Engadget notes that the app is less about covering events in real-time, but more focused on "pre-arranged productions." As such, there could be a market for Hype with content creators making the most if it.
Whether or not Hype will find success amid a myriad of live streaming apps remains to be seen, but the app is currently available for download on iOS only. Find out more about Hype in the video below.
