Much of today's focus on Huawei will involve its product launch event later today in Munich, Germany at 15:00 (SAST). With the new Mate 9 phablet expected in attendance, it's a tad surprising that a vastly different device has seen the light of day - the Huawei Fit.

A watch-style fitness tracker, the Huawei Fit surfaced a couple hours ago, but an official listing on the Chinese company's website cannot be found at the moment. Nevertheless, The Verge points out that it will be available in Stateside retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and Newegg from today, starting at $129.99.

With full specifications a little unclear at this stage, we do know that it features a monochrome touch circular touch display up front. Furthermore, it is said to track all the usual criteria for a wearable including steps, sleep, calories burned and heart rate during workouts.

Unfortunately, the Huawei Fit does not feature built-in GPS, but can pair with Android and iOS devices that do, via the Huawei Wear app. Precisely how accurate it will make the Fit, remains to be seen.
