With no release date yet, Persona 5 offers respite with new trailer
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 18 September 2015 | Categories: newsAt the recent PlayStation Tokyo Games Show event, the YouTube livestream was lit up by comments from viewers about Persona 5. Sadly though, Sony did not detail anything about the Atlus developed game. The developers have however released a new trailer to tide fans over, although a release date for the project has not been confirmed.
Atlus had originally slated Persona 5 for release in 2015, but at E3 this year, the developers said that mid-2016 is looking a more likely target. While there is indeed a bit more of a wait, it's clear that fans are willing to wait it out for this game, as the new Japanese trailer has already garnered 370 000-plus views on YouTube.
For those unfamiliar with the Persona series, it's a role playing game that draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese manga and anime. It features a strong mix of combat, side activities and even a few mini-games akin to the look and feel of Super Mario 64-bit games. Perhaps the Japanese equivalent of GTA, Persona 5 will definitely be worth a playthrough, but it's local release is hard to determine at this stage.
In the meantime, give the video after the break a watch.
