So we’ve had Superman, Batman, The Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Thor, Iron Man and we will be getting more movies on most of these, but one superhero has been sorely neglected on the big screen, namely Wonder Woman.

The good news is that this is set to change – not only will she debut in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice next year, but the Amazon from Themyscira is slated to star in her own movie in June 2017. Moreover, apparently this could potentially pave the way for Wonder Woman (played by Gal Gadot) to finally claim a trilogy of her own – presumably depending on how well the first movie does.

While plot details will undoubtedly be revealed closer to the time, apparently the Wonder Woman movie will follow the titular heroine’s first introduction to the United States in the 1920s and, according to Deadline.com, is expected to start filming later this year.
