YouTube HQ shooting leaves one dead and several wounded
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 4 April 2018 | Categories: newsEach time a mass shooting incident happens in the US, the gun debate is raised once again. Only a few weeks after the highly publicised Stoneman Douglas shooting, an active shooter targeted YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno, California.
At this stage the full details of the incident are unknown, but several press statements have been issued to date. The shooting was reported at 12:46 (California time), with the shooter believed to be female. As many as four victims were discovered by police responding to the event, having suffered severe gunshot wounds. A person was found deceased from self-inflicting shots, which has led some to believe that this was the shooter. At this stage, however, it remains unconfirmed.
During the incident, hundreds of YouTube employees were evacuated from the building, with those in around the area taking to social media in order to provide updates on what was happening.
Google CEO, Sundar Pichai issued a statement following the shooting.

With the identity of the shooter, and the victims undisclosed for now, this remains a developing story. What is known, in our opinion, is that the gun debate has come into even sharper focus.
