After Canon South Africa’s debut success in 2015 at Africa’s leading security and fire trade expo, Securex, Canon is returning for an encore at this year’s exhibition. Three years since the company entered the network security and surveillance market in South Africa, Canon is extending and diversifying its range of camera solutions and some of the latest technologies will be showcased at Securex 2016, taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand from 24 to 26 May.

Visitors to Canon’s stand at Securex will have the opportunity to see and experience Canon’s recently launched VB-M50B and the VB-H651V products, together with the current line-up of products.

The new VB-M50B high-sensitivity 1.3MP PTZ network camera demonstrates outstanding low light performance, even at 5x optical zoom. The large aperture, which lets increased amounts of light enter the camera, ensures bright images even at high magnification. With a high-sensitivity sensor and high-performance image processor, the VB-M50B can produce images of a subject’s face with recognisable colour from 90 metres away in ambient light levels equivalent to moonlight (0.08 lux). This makes the camera ideal for situations requiring 24-hour surveillance, including covert intelligence and evidence gathering such as law enforcement and urban surveillance.

The VB-H651V offers Full HD resolution and wide angle of view up of to 122.1⁰. As a result, the camera is capable of creating crisp, defined images of a large coverage area, ideal for surveillance applications requiring higher image quality for functions like facial recognition or analytics such as in retail, education, banking and commercial spaces.

Braam Steyn, Business Development Manager, Network Cameras at Canon SA, says: “Canon Network Visual Solutions will continue to demonstrate the latest technology and unique features of our network cameras. The cameras offer best in class image quality and low light performance perfect for all application with a high security requirement. Visit Canon at Securex, engage with our experts, and discuss your project requirements with us.’’

Securex visitors can find the Canon stand in Hall 2, stand number C01.
