Competition amongst the local operators is heating up with their respective subscribers benefitting from reduced contract and prepaid pricing. The latest cellular provider to jump aboard the reduced pricing bandwagon is Telkom-owned 8ta, which has announced its new prepaid offer 8ta More.

Via this offer 8ta’s prepaid customers obtain free airtime every time they recharge with R10 or more, which they can use for calls, data, SMS and MMS messages. This airtime reward may be used at  anytime of the day and to any South African network, which distinguishes 8ta’s offer from similar offerings from its competitors such as Vodacom’s Day-Night Double promotion.

According to 8ta, the key feature of the value proposition is a sliding scale benefit that allows customers to instantly receive free airtime with every recharge of R10 or more. A recharge of R50 or higher for example, nets 8ta customers a whopping 100% of the recharge value for free. The complete sliding scale is as follows:

Amith Maharaj, 8ta’s senior managing executive stated: “We are excited to announce that 8ta is now able to offer customers a value proposition that is simple to understand and affords the customer all the flexibility in deciding how and when to use their free airtime”.

“Our new offer cuts straight through the clutter in the market around prepaid rewards and provides customers with free airtime they can bank on. All the customer has to do to instantly earn the free airtime is recharge with R10 or more. Therefore the more you recharge, the more you get free,” Maharaj concluded.

For more info surrounding this offer contact the 8ta call centre at 180 from an 8ta number or 081 180 from any other number.
