A Windows 7 Phone for every Microsoft employee
By Tom Manners 22 July 2010 | Categories: newsIn lieu of the release of the hotly anticipated line of Window 7 Phone enabled devices, Microsoft specialist Mary Jo Foley recently retweeted a message from a company employee claiming that each employee would receive a handset upon release.
If this proves to be true then Microsoft will be tasked with the heavy burden of distributing a device to every one of its 90 000 employees worldwide - quite a feat logistically and fiscally speaking if you ask us.
Foley’s Tweet reads: “90K down... just under 30 million to go: RT @simchabe: Woot. Every single microsoft employee will get a windows phone 7 #mgx@
Currently it is unclear whether this is a hoax or if the company truly plans to go ahead with this endeavour. If it opted for the later it would certainly be a show of the self belief Microsoft undoubtedly has for its new mobile platform.
In the past Windows Mobile has been fraught with problems. Although it’s most recent iteration, Windows Mobile 6.5, showed some improvement, it still gathered heavy criticism from technology writers and users alike.
As a result Microsoft is putting all its mobile eggs into one basket with the launch of Windows 7 Phone.
