Apple has announced that the Wi-Fi models of its iPad will be available to customers in China from Apple Retail Stores as well as selected Apple Authorised Resellers as of this Friday starting at 10:00.

Customers who purchase their iPad from an Apple Retail Store will receive a free personal setup service, which will assist them in customising their new iPad by amongst others setting up their email and loading their favourite apps from the App Store.

Apple Retail Stores in China will also host special iPad workshops to aid clients in learning more about the company’s revolutionary mobile computing product.

The iPad Wi-Fi models in China will be available for a suggested retail price of Chinese Yuan (CNY) 3 988 (around R4 220) for the 16GB model, CNY 4 788 (about R5 065) for the 32 GB model and CNY 5 588 (approx. R5 911) for the 64 GB model.

Apple also announced that the iPad will roll out to many more countries (hopefully including South Africa) later this year and the company will announce availability as well as local pricing for these additional countries at a later date.
