Gaming giant Activision’s upcoming first person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops, is promising some enticing benefits for players who purchase the Prestige (Collector’s) Edition of the game.

The Treyarch studios development, which is expected to launch on the 9th of November, will be available in two special editions, namely Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige Edition and Call of Duty: Black Ops Hardened Edition, and is expected to be one of this year’s most popular FPS releases.

The Prestige Edition is the larger of the two and will attempt to trump last year’s Modern Warfare 2 Collector’s Edition (which featured night vision goggles) with its own nifty gadget; a radio controlled car.

The RC-XD is a surveillance vehicle with a range of up to 200 feet and a fully-functioning remote camera that can transmit in TFT color video and audio to its operator. The vehicle is based on a new multiplayer gadget of the same name that will feature in the game.

The Prestige Edition includes all the add-ons which will be found in the Hardened Edition such as a custom Black Ops limited edition medal, exclusive Avatar outfits for your console avatars, four extra cooperative maps and the game itself.

US players can already start pre-ordering the special editions from most major gaming retailers, while other countries should be able to start placing orders in the coming weeks.

The Prestige and Hardened Editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. No PC release has been confirmed.
