The third annual Cloud and Virtualisation Summit Africa is set to bring insight to the Hilton Hotel in Sandton, from 10 to 11 October 2012. Hosted by international business-to-business conferencing company, Kinetic Events, the event is aimed at business and technology leaders who need to understand how cloud computing and virtualisation is fundamentally transforming the way in which we think about, acquire and use computing resources.

The convergence of organisational information and communication technology is moving beyond the closed network environment and onto the web. Cloud computing and virtualisation will continue to grow, evolve, and overcome issues of security, acquiescence, and cost within an enterprise. To take full advantage of the transformation, it is vital to gain an understanding of the realities and benefits of the cloud as it matures.

Shannon Mackrill, joint managing director at Kinetic Events says, “Virtualisation is an enabling technology for cloud computing environments, delivering optimised resources, utilisation and flexibility.”

The two day invitation-only summit will allow industry experts to engage, collaborate and develop new strategies and best practices for their business, and explore how these technologies can be effectively positioned alongside existing solutions. The event will prompt topical debate, featuring expert-led workshops and discussions by IT industry thought leaders.

Mackrill added, “Cloud computing and virtualisation is fast becoming an increasingly powerful IT tool and this summit comes at a critical time in the industry to enable IT professionals to share and exchange knowledge on some of the real issues faced on a daily basis.”
