In anticipation of this year’s E3 gaming conference details behind the sequel to Activision’s surprise hit from last year, DJ Hero, are beginning to surface.

According to a number of sources DJ Hero 2 will introduce microphone support to the series. This will allow players to rap or sing to lyrics on the screen while manning the turntables.

Activision also plans to release three versions of the game, which will allow players to purchase it as a standalone disk, bundled with a turntable or the new ‘Party Pack’ which will be equipped with two turntables (a first for the series), a microphone and a game disk.

DJ Hero 2 will also feature new career and multiplayer modes which will include the use of two turntables at once. The soundtrack will also feature over 80 artists which will incorporate the likes of Dr. Dre, The Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Metallica, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna into the mix.

At present no pricing or release details are yet available. Activision is expected to make additional announcements regarding DJ Hero 2 and the Guitar Hero franchise at E3 next week.
