Square Enix last week revealed the first gameplay trailer for upcoming dungeon prowling roleplaying game (RPG), Dungeon Siege 3.

The trailer gives gamers a sneak peak at the kind of combat they can expect from Dungeon Siege 3, showing the player characters charging through groups of enemies and treating viewers to a glimpse of a possible boss fight at the end of the trailer.

The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, with Gas Powered Games, the original developers, giving input into the games' design.

Fans of the series can look forward to a new co-up multiplayer mode in the third instalment along with highly customisable characters and a rich story.

Chris Taylor, head of Gas Powered Games said that while there will be some similarities to Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, some things will be changed. The biggest of these changes seem to be the dropping of multi-character parties, a staple of previous Dungeon Siege games.

This means players will control a single hero instead of having to manage an entire party full of characters.

The game is slated for a 2011 release date and will for the first time be venturing into the console arena releasing on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Check out the trailer below.
