Rumours regarding Sony's possible next handheld gaming system, the PlayStation Portable 2 (PSP2), have been making the rounds throughout the year.

While Sony itself hasn't officially announced the device, one of the biggest game publisher's in the world, EA, doesn't seem to feel as strongly about keeping it a secret as Sony does.

In a recent interview with CVG, EA's senior vice president, Partick Soderlund had the question, “have you had any exposure at all to the PSP2?”, posed to him. His nonchalant reply? “Well, obviously as a developer we have had that – but I'm not allowed to talk about it.”

Nice save there Soderlund, except for the fact that you just confirmed the existence of Sony's next handheld.

It seems Sony just can't keep its secrets safe anymore. Well, it was bound to arrive eventually, and even though no specs or any similar details have been released, it will be interesting to see how Sony’s PSP2 will tackle the already unstoppable hype machine, known as the Nintendo 3DS.
