It's time to update those web browsers if you're a Firefox user as Mozilla today officially unveiled the latest version of the veteran browser, Firefox 4.

Competing with the recently released Internet Explorer 9 and Google Chrome 10, Firefox 4 features a newly redesigned user interface (UI), new tab organisation options, add-on manager and support for HTML5. Multi-touch support on Windows 7 is also included as well as a number of performance enhancements across the board.

The new browser also helps you keep track of your online persona by allowing users to synchronise settings, passwords, bookmarks and history across multiple devices.

Mozilla claims Firefox 4 is three times faster than Firefox 3.6.12, with the company also stating that it is going to attempt to follow a faster release schedule following Firefox 4.

The Firefox websites' homepage has not been updated with the download links at writing, but interested users can use this link to download the browser in the meantime.
