Axl Rose, the frontman of legendary rock band, Guns N Roses, has filed a lawsuit against game publishers Activision for a massive $20 million.

Rose claims that Activision violated an agreement stating that they would not use the likeness of former GNR band member Slash anywhere in its Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock music title.

According to Reuters, Rose claims “Activision Blizzard fraudulently induced Rose into authorizing “Jungle” for use in Guitar Hero III by telling him during negotiations that it wouldn't feature any reference to the former GNR member or his subsequent band Velvet Revolver.”

Rose claims Activision began, “spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III, but also promote the game by emphasizing and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N Roses and the band's song 'Welcome to the Jungle'.”

Apparently Rose was enraged to find that Slash was featured in the game upon release, but since the game went on sale back in 2007, it seems a tad late to be voicing complaints now.

Either way, Activision will have a fair share of explaining to do in court if it doesn't want to further damage its Guitar Hero franchise.
