HTC Hero scoops best mobile award
By Hanleigh Daniels 24 February 2010 | Categories: newsHTC’s Hero smartphone scooped the Best Mobile Handset or Device at the 15th annual Global Mobile Awards (GMA). The GMA winners were announced at the 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week.
“It is magnificent to receive global mobile industry acknowledgement in the mobile handset category. It reinforces the positive feedback from our growing South African user base, who love[s] the customisation and design of the handset,” said Quinton Leigh, MD of Leaf International Communications, who distributes HTC products in South Africa.
The Hero was released during September 2009 in South Africa and merged HTC’s Sense UI with Google’s Android mobile operating system, to create one of the best user experiences available on any smartphone. “HTC Sense is a user interface that allows for a level of customisation never before experienced on a mobile phone. With the HTC Hero, you’re not getting a phone – you’re choosing a phone that gets you,” explained Leigh. Read our review of the Hero here.
