LG goes Android
By Mike Joubert 15 September 2009 | Categories: newsLG has joined the ever growing list of manufacturers using the Android OS with the official announcement of the LG-GW620. The press release on the device is slim on details, but we do know that it will feature a lovely 3” touch-screen as well as a slide out QWERTY keypad. Having been spotted at the IFA trade show in Germany last week, the phone, dubbed Etna, also appears to include a 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and HSDPA.
The Android-based GW620 does not mean that LG is skimping on its relationship with Windows, since the release comes in the same week that LG announced three new Windows Mobile devices.
No word yet on an official release date or price for the phone here in SA.
