A photographic line being called the “Grey Label” does not quite evoke colour saturated goodness, but then again, having Lady Gaga as your creative director isn’t quite the safe choice either. But this is exactly what photographic company Polaroid is up to, having its new Gray Label equipment unveiled by Lady Gaga at the Consumer Electronics Show currently being held in Las Vegas.

Gaga, who’s been named Polaroid’s creative director back in January 2010, introduced the GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, the GL30 Instant Digital Camera and the GL20 Camera Glasses. (continues below)

GL20 Camera Glasses

Certainly the most interesting of the lot is the GL20 Camera Glasses. With these sunglasses users can instantly capture or upload photos with the built-in camera and then display the images on the glasses' built-in 1½“ OLED screens for others to see. Images can also be transferred via Bluetooth or USB.

Lady Gaga said that these glasses can be worn in public , nightclubs or to her shows where users can take pictures of her. According to Polaroid the GL20 merge fashion with photography, since never before has the world seen fashion, photography and technology come together in one, singular product.

The GL20 Camera Glasses will be available later this year, at a price to be announced.

GL30 Instant Digital Camera

Featuring the benefits of a digital camera, instant photo printer and digital display, the GL30 is a creative tool that delivers the best of the digital and physical worlds. GL30 uses next generation ZINK Zero Ink Technology from ZINK Imaging and users can select from a number of filters and borders to create truly original images that instantly fit in the palm of your hand.

Polaroid believes the camera is reminiscent of Polaroid cameras of the past and should bring the joy of instant photography to a new generation. The GL30 Instant Digital Camera will be available later this year, at a price to be announced.

GL10 Instant Mobile Printer

Building on Polaroid’s reputation of instant imaging, the newest instant printing experience begins with the embedded dye-crystal ZINK Zero Ink Technology from ZINK Imaging. Patented ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with cyan, yellow, and magenta dye crystals embedded inside. The GL10 Instant Mobile Printer uses heat to activate and colorize these crystals. Image quality rivals that of photo-labs and prints emerge fully developed and protected by a smudge-proof, water-resistant coating.

The GL10 Instant Mobile Printer will be available in May 2011 with a cost of US $149.

Gaga, who forsake a stop at the delicatessen instead opting for a more conservative, funeral black dress, was welcomed onstage by Polaroid chairman Bobby Sager calling her “incredible and unbelievable.”
