By Hanleigh Daniels 2 September 2010 | Categories: newsMotorola has introduced its Milestone 2 smartphone yesterday. This follow up to the impressive Motorola Milestone boasts some notable features including its use of Android 2.2 (Froyo) OS, a 3.7" WVGA (480 x 854 pixels) multi-touch display and the latest version of Motorola’s Motoblur solution that makes it easier to manage your e-mails, messages and social updates from one centralised location.
The smartphone also sports a 1 GHz processor, 720p HD ready video capture and playback, 8 GB internal memory plus an 8 GB microSD in the box as well as support for microSD cards up to 32 GB in size and Adobe Flash Player 10.1.
An improved QWERTY keyboard that features larger keys for easier typing as well as the ability to connect up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices to act as a Wi-Fi hotspot rounds off the specs.
“MILESTONE 2 offers more power, more speed, with an improved keyboard, so users can send, access and share information even quicker than before to manage their work and personal life,” said Alain Mutricy, senior vice president, portfolio and device product management, Motorola Mobility.
“This introduction not only reaffirms our commitment to innovate on Android but offers consumers the leading edge features they crave including fast web browsing, messaging, application downloads and multimedia.”
Motorola’s Milestone 2 will be available in Europe during Q4 of 2010. It should be making its way to South Africa by that time as well.
