Sony Ericsson (SE) announced two new phones, the Zylo and the Spiro, that’ll expand on their Walkman range of phones.
 
The Zylo is the first phone from SE to use the new high-definition FLAC format, and according to SE this allows for the “best sound quality ever on a mobile phone”. This is because unlike MP3 and AAC, HD FLAC doesn’t reduce the quality of the track when it's compressed to FLAC format. The phone also boasts a 2.6" TFT display (240 x 320 pixels), a 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging capability and Track ID music recognition. Track ID, as found on SE phones for awhile now, allows you to record a short sample of any song to identify the track’s info, such as band name, song title and and album title. This phone is unfortunately not destined for SA. 
 
SE’s Spiro sports a 2.2" QVGA TFT, social networking integration (Twitter and Facebook), a 2 megapixel camera, 3.5 mm audio jack and micoSD support (up to 16 GB). Unlike the Zylo, the Spiro’s Walkman player will not make use of FLAC, but will be supporting AAC and MP3 formats.
