Nokia unveils its latest device
By Hanleigh Daniels 14 October 2010 | Categories: newsNokia launched its latest phone today, the C5-03, which falls under its affordable C series range of mobiles.
Unlike the keypad-based current C5, this new C5 boasts a 3.2" touch display, Wi-Fi, a compass as well as assisted GPS for use with the latest version of Ovi Maps navigation service. The phone doesn’t operate on the company’s new Symbian^3 OS (used on the N8 and C7), but on Symbian^1 (or rather S60 5th edition touch-edition), which also powers the N97 mini and X6.
This compact (105.8 x 51 x 13.8 mm) device weighs in at 93 g and sports a 5 megapixel camera with four times digital zoom, but no flash.
It packs up to 40 MB of internal storage, but this can be boosted as the phone supports MicroSD cards up to 16 GB. According to Nokia it will provide users with a talk time of up to 11.5 hours for GSM and 4.5 hours using 3G, as well as a standby time of around 24-25 days.
There is no word yet regarding its local availability and pricing details, but the C5-03 will launch globally by the end of this quarter.
