RIM introduces new security app
By Hanleigh Daniels 14 July 2010 | Categories: newsBlackBerry holding company Research in Motion (RIM) has announced a new security application dubbed BlackBerry Protect.
BlackBerry Protect provides users with the ability to wirelessly backup, restore and locate their BlackBerry smartphone when lost or stolen.
The application will also allow users to remotely wipe the device, remotely lock the device, activate a ‘Lost and Found’ screen, locate the device on a map, remotely activate the BlackBerry smartphone loud ringer and to do a wireless device backup and restore.
Blackberry Project is currently in the beta phase and will be launching first in limited beta through BlackBerry Beta Zone later this week via invite codes as well as an open public beta later this year.
