While Samsung was winning a fair share of interest in its newly announced products at the IFA expo in Berlin over the weekend, it simultaneously lost a battle with Apple, which forced the Korean tech giant to remove the newly announced Galaxy Tab 7.7 from its stand. According to Bloomberg, the company pulled the latest tablet to join its Galaxy range after Apple won an injunction in a Dusseldorf court on Friday banning Samsung from selling and marketing the product.

The Bloomberg report further quoted James Chung, a spokesman for Samsung, as stating that the company respected the court’s decision even though Samsung believed it “severely limited consumer choice in Germany.” In the same report, Chung is reported as adding that Samsung would pursue all available options to defend its intellectual property rights.

Samsung focused on its newly announced Galaxy Note after it was forced to pull the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from its stand

The move followed a temporary banning of sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in all but one of EU countries, and a delay of its launch in Australia. Thankfully, South Africa seems unaffected by the legal wrangling that is currently ongoing. Despite the setback, the company chose to focus instead on its Galaxy Note, a 5.3” smartphone – tablet hybrid that will include a stylus and note taking technology, that was simultaneously announced.

In related news Samsung also recently unveiled a trio of bada-running Wave smartphones, as well as a introducing a new Galaxy range naming strategy, along with three new Galaxy smartphones.
