The lawsuit that Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen filed against Apple and ten other tech companies including the likes of Google and eBay, has been dismissed by the judge for being too vague in its allegations.
 
According to the Wall Street Journal, U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman dismissed the lawsuit because it didn’t describe its allegations specifically enough and set a deadline (28 December) for the plaintiff, a company controlled by Allen known as Interval Licensing LLC, to file an amended complaint.
 
Allen brought the suit against the companies in August, alleging that these companies made use of technology developed a decade ago in his now-defunct Silicon Valley laboratory Interval Research Corp.
 
Some of these technologies that were allegedly illegally employed by the companies include software that provides suggestions for clients to peruse items related to a product, which they are currently viewing or, in the case of social networking sites, view items related to online activities of their contacts and others on the site. 
 
Mr. Allen’s spokesman stated that this amended complaint will be filed soon and referred to Judge Pechman’s order as a “procedural issue” that will not cease the case.
