Origin has unveiled its custom built gaming PC, dubbed The Big O, which also boasts a built-in Xbox 360 ‘slim’ gaming console.

All the functionality and connectivity of Microsoft’s gaming console is still supported with this gaming rig.

The inclusion of the built-in Xbox 360 is the system’s X factor (O factor in this case), but the PC’s specification level is certainly right up there with the best gaming PC systems available.

It boasts an liquid cooled ASUS Rampage III Extreme motherboard, an overclocked (and liquid cooled) Intel Core i7 CPU running at 4.5 GHz, 6 GB Corsair Dominator @ 1600 MHz, dual 50 GB Vertex2 solid-state drives (SSD) drives as well as a secondary 2 TB WD Caviar Black HDD, Creative Fatal1ty sound card, 12x Pioneer Blu-ray burner, dual SLI EVGA GTX 480 FTW graphics cards and a Silverstone 1500 watt strider PSU.

If the Core i7 is a little too commonplace for consumers, they can opt for the CPU Magazine Configuration featuring dual liquid cooled Intel Xeon X5680 CPUs (six cores per CPU) that are overclocked to 4.3 GHz, a liquid cooled EVGA SR2 motherboard, 12 GB of Corsair GT 2000 MHz RAM, Quad SLI EVGA GTX 480 FTW liquid cooled GPUs, an 8 channel HD audio sound card, an LSI Megaraid SAS 9260-4i as the secondary drive, which are all powered by two Enermax 1050 watt PSUs.

The base configuration goes for a modest $7 669 (approx. R55 870) and the CPU Magazine Configuration is a tad more expansive at $16 999 (about R123 840). No local release or pricing details are available and we doubt that these ever will be, as the combined price of a high-end Core i7 gaming rig and pre-order for the forthcoming Xbox 360 model is less than R 28 000.
