IDAPT Innovative Adapter
By Andrew Gould 7 July 2008 | Categories: gizmosThere are gadgets you want through the sheer desire of owning something that no one else has. There are gadgets that can do amazing things and leave your friends depressed with jealousy. Then there are gadgets that have been created to resolve some problem that the world never had until recently.
The IDAPT Innovative Adapter is one such device. The TechSmart office is a veritable wasteland of chargers and adaptors. The reason for this is proprietory hardware.
There is not a single reason in this universe stopping all manufacturers from fitting their devices with mini USB for both charging and data transfer, but they don’t, so you are left with a room full of cables, all of which are the European 2-pin variety, that you can never find an adaptor for and when you do it’s broken. The IDAPT charger is different and clever. It can charge up to three devices at a time and you can change the charging tips to allow you to charge your cell phone, PDA, MP3-player, GPS, portable game player, digital camera, and headset. The version we tested comes with attachments for: Nokia (version 1 and 2) connectors, miniUSB, Nintendo DS Light, Samsung (version 2) connector, iPod, and Sony Ericsson (version 2) connector.
