As you may or may not know Panasonic’s Toughbook range represents the quintessential outdoor notebook.
It is built to handle the thrills and spills of working out in the bush or onsite on a building project.
The CF-30 is a bit more Os du Randt than Colin Moss. It is big and bulky but just by looking at it you know that this machine is built to last. It is built to withstand dust, damp, heat, cold, accidental drops from a 1m height and we have heard stories about the CF-30 still working perfectly after being left under a running tap for two hours.
All of these benefits are of no use if the CF-30 cannot be used in our harsh sunlight. Luckily, the 13"XGA touch screen is of low reflection and has a stunning brightness of 1000 cd, which makes it a lot easier to work outdoors.
Inside you’ll find a 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo Processor, 512MB RAM and a 80GB shock mounted HDD. A slot on the side of the unit can be used for either an optical drive or an additional battery which will push your working time up to 8 to 10 hours. You do pay for these privileges though the CF30 costs a cool R30 999.
