If you are looking for an affordable 2.1 speaker system to boost your PC’s sound power, Premiumsun’s 2.1 channel subwoofer speaker system is up for consideration.

This 2.1 speaker set comprises of two satellite speakers (90 x 151 x 95 mm) and a subwoofer (160 x 261 x 200 mm), allowing for a total sound power output of 4 800 W Peak Music Power Output (PMPO). We normally use continuous power (RMS) as an indicator of a speaker’s sound power performance, but these figures aren’t available for this speaker set from Premiumsun.

Overall we found the sound quality to be pretty standard while the volume is adequate. If you employ your PC to play computer games on than you’ll have no complaints when using this speaker set, but if you listen to a great deal of music than you’re better off going for a different set the likes of the Creative SBS A200 speakers.

Premiumsun also tossed in a useful switch dial to turn the speakers on/ off as well as control the volume. This switch dial’s cable sports a good length of 1.2 m, meaning your speakers can be place on the floor whilst the dial can be placed on your desk. There is also an additional 3.5 mm audio jack on the dial for your earphones and another one to play music from another source such as your MP3 player or smartphone.

You can pick up the Premiumsun 2.1 channel subwoofer speaker system for a recommended retail price of R351 from Timeline Computer on 011-791-2468.
PROS
Affordable, handy switch dial controller.
CONS
Not the best sound bang for your buck.
