Google Glass is back in the news again. Following an update for its consumer edition last month, Alphabet (Google's parent company) has released a new edition - an Enterprise version of Google Glass. This latest offering is similar to the one spotted in an FCC filing in 2015, with the augmented reality headset featuring a number of small changes and enhancements to the original Google Glass.

To that end, the Enterprise Edition has an 8 MP camera in place of the predecessor's 5 MP one. Added to this, Alphabet claims an improved battery life, as well as faster Wi-Fi connectivity and a more powerful processor. Other features include a red light that illuminates when wearers are recording.

Furthermore, the Enterprise Edition features a modular design called Glass Pod, which can be detached and attached to various types of compatible frames. The result is a headset that can be catered to specific environments, such as a harder wearing frame for those in the construction industry.

For now, the Enterprise Edition is only slated for a small rollout Stateside, while pricing remains unknown at present.
