We've already covered our fair share of rumours and reports for Apple's yet-to-be revealed 2017 iPhone devices. These range from doing away with a physical home button, featuring an edgeless display, and introducing a 10th anniversary edition iPhone X. Now, the latest report from MacRumors says Apple may integrate a "function area" into the next iPhone.

Industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Research is MacRumors’ source on this latest tidbit, noting the function area will feature on the 5.8" iPhone Apple plans to unveil later this year. Much like the Touch Bar on the latest MacBook Pro, the function area would function like virtual buttons. Whether they will be able to change according to the application users are in, however, is unclear at this stage. Kuo does say that the edgeless display portion will account for 5.15" of the 5.8" iPhone.

With Apple's usual September iPhone unveiling still some months off, there will no doubt be more reports and rumours forthcoming, so watch this space.
