Bandai Namco has won praise in recent years for publishing titles like Dark Souls III. Also in the publisher's stable is driving simulator Project Cars, and racing game fans have been eagerly awaiting a follow up. That wait should not be much longer, as the company announced the impending arrival of Project Cars 2 via an announcement trailer earlier this week.

The trailer features in-game footage from a title that's still well in development, so it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. That said, it appears as if weather will play a significant part of Project Cars 2, with Bandai Namco aiming to reproduce a more realistic driving experience when the track is wet or it's snowing.

As far as the cars themselves are concerned, these look and sound as good as ever. No precise launch date has been mentioned by Bandai Namco, but the publisher notes a late 2017 release is likely. Hit play on the video below and enjoy.
