British teenager wins $250 000 in inaugural World Drone Prix held in Dubai

If it can net you a cool $250 000 for winning, like it did 15-year-old British tennager Luke Bannister, it very well might be. Bannister recently took part in the inaugural World Drone Prix in Dubai over the weekend, beating out competition from 150 teams in the process.
The recently launched Drone Racing League, and now the World Drone Prix, only serve to showcase that popularity in this 'Future Sport' is growing. So much so that organisers of the World Drone Prix fronted a $1 million pool in prize money, with an estimated 2000 people turning up in the UAE's capital to take part.
Luke Bannister's team, named Tornado X-Blades Banni-UK, beat out local team Dubai Dronetek for first place, as the pair raced around an outdoor racetrack/obstacle course, with nothing but the camera mounted on their drones to aid them.
