It's safe to say that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, at least from a gameplay perspective, did not live up to gamers expectations by heading into space. Perhaps then it's a good thing that the franchise has gone back to its roots by tackling World War II, debuting a reveal trailer in the process earlier this week. 

Much like Battlefield 1 did (World War I), Call of Duty: WWII will try to tell an epic story about the most devastating war in human history. While that seems a tough task for even Activision to pull off, the reveal trailer is promising indeed, although it has not stopped a good number of dislikes on the video, totalling 61k at the time of writing. 

Nevertheless, things are shaping nicely for the new Call of Duty, which we'll likely see more of at E3 a little later this year. Hopefully fans that have become less than enamoured with the franchise of late will like what they see.
