Canon Series: Top Tip – Andy Lund
By Staff Writer 23 October 2015 | Categories: newsProfessional photographer, Andy Lund has shot many people and places in his lifetime. We tracked him down to ask for an NB piece of advice to offer fellow photographers.
Andy Lund: I always say two things. Don’t worry so much about the equipment you have or don’t have, just go shoot! So many people I meet want to just talk about the latest lens or the specs of the newest body released. Or they trawl the forums and chat rooms to diss or champion the most recent piece of gear. As important as this is in a certain way, I consider the camera to be just a tool. Whether you are using a R100 pencil or a R2 pencil, you still need to draw a beautiful picture. So shoot more, talk less!
The second thing I always say is learn everything you can about taking photographs. The rule of thirds, depth of field, light settings, composition, everything. But when it comes to taking the shot, forget everything and go with your gut!
