DJI's Inspire 2 drone is built for professionals, not hobbyists
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 16 November 2016 | Categories: newsDJI is having a pretty good year. The company's Phantom 4 Pro drone is one of the most popular consumer offerings out there, and the recently released foldable Mavic Pro is also proving a hit. While DJI has the consumer end of the drone market covered, it has ambitions for professionals too, unveiling the Inspire 2 drone.
Debuting a few short hours ago, the Inspire 2 is already up for pre-order on DJI's store for $2 999. At that price, it's certainly not for hobbyists, and is designed for "professional filmmakers and enterprises," according to the company.
As far as specs go, the Inspire 2 tips the scale at 3.29 kg and can support an additional 610 g if needed. The maximum flight time is estimated at 27 minutes courtesy of its 4280 mAh battery, with a operating range of up to seven kilometres. Added to this is a top speed of 108 km/h. In terms of video quality, DJI says the Inspire 2 can record both 4K and 5.2K in CinemaDNG RAW, as well as live stream in 1080p.
