If you are a fan of first person shooters, sci-fi horror or testing your mettle against an influx of demons, consider your free recreation time in May utterly doomed.

Along with a firm date of 13 May for when we will be able to go hands on with some demons, Bethesda has also revealed that there will be a Doom premium collector’s edition incoming as well.

This will include a fully-realized 12” tall statue of one of the game’s most iconic demons: the Revenant. Modeled from actual in-game 3D files and striking in appearance, the demonic Revenant stands on an LED-lit base with internal, slow-spinning turbine from the UAC facility on Mars. Suffice to say, it sounds very striking, if not perhaps the best choice of a nightlight for your four-year old. The DOOM collector’s edition also includes a copy of the game packaged in an exclusive metal case.

As with most collector’s edition, this one is going to be limited and available for pre-order exclusively through Takealot.com for PS4, XB1 and PC. Alternatively, if that is a bit too rich for your taste, you can opt for the Standard edition.

Either way, players pre-ordering the DOOM collector’s edition or the standard edition of the game will receive the Demon Multiplayer Pack. This contains a unique demon armour set with three skin variations, six metallic paint colours and three id logo patterns that can be applied to weapons and armour, plus a set of six Hack Modules – one-time consumable items that can give you an edge in a multiplayer match.

Also released is a new trailer, which shows some of the campaign in action, and let’s just say, if you’re squeamish you may not want to watch it while eating lunch. Three things stand out – ferocious hulking demons, fantastic guns and loads of blood, guts and gore.

Players can once again step into the ill-fates boots of a marine who awakens to discover that a Mars facility has a few (read: tons) of unwelcome gatecrashers, namely demons who are hell bent on destruction (when do they ever pop in for some tea and a biscuit?).
