There is no shortage of trading card games for mobile devices, nor so for Match 3 titles in the Puzzle Quest vein, but Magic: The Gathering – Puzzle Quest is one of the few which successfully and compellingly blended the genres. Now the game has received its first update, and a significant one at that.

Along with rebalancing more than twenty cards used in the game, the update further adds 25 Heroic Encounters each with three objectives. Also new is a Quick Battle mode, which enables players to use decks created by others. As well, rewards in this mode include the chance to get specific colour cards, free card packs and currency in biweekly cycles. Additionally, other enhancements include improvements being made to the Daily Rewards and an upgraded inventory system.

Magic: The Gathering – Puzzle Quest is currently available on IOS and Android for free, with in-app purchases.
