Director of The Raid debuts 5-minute long Samurai film
By Staff Writer 26 January 2016 | Categories: newsFor cinema buffs, few movies match the action of Gareth Evans' The Raid. Even though his plate is full with Raid 3 and Blister, the director still had time to upload a 5 minute-long black and white short film to YouTube.
Titled Pre Vis Action, it features a female samurai warrior wielding two katanas and battling two other samurai during a civil war in Japan. It wasn't filmed in the Land of the Rising Sun, rather somewhere less exotic - Hirwaun, Wales, using a Sony NEX-7 camera. Evans provided some comment on the short film, stating that he wanted to keep the action in accordance with the rhythm of that in Raid 1 and Raid 2, while ensuring it keeps its PG13 rating for YouTube.
There’s not much better you’ll see today, and perhaps even the rest of the week, so head here for the video in full.
