EA confirms Womens National Teams for FIFA 16 with video
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 29 May 2015 | Categories: newsAlex Morgan, Sydney Leroux, Stephanie Houghton. Those names ring a bell? Well if you're an avid FIFA gamer, they will by the year's end, as EA has confirmed that twelve women national teams will be available to access in FIFA 16.
To make the announcement, EA roped in the football and acting talents of some of football's most gifted players, including Abby Wambach and Megan Rapinoe of the United States. In fact, the United States' female football players had a major role in the introduction of women's national teams to FIFA 16. A handful of their top players were kitted out in EA's motion capture suits, to allow developers to get the movement, passing, shooting and even celebrations of the fairer sex just right.
The announcement comes a full week before the FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 kicks off in Canada on 6 June. With that in mind, perhaps EA should also try and predict the winner, considering it was spot on with the 2014 World Cup, as multiple simulations determined that Germany would lift the trophy.
