Electronic Arts will have separate EA Play event in June
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 19 January 2017 | Categories: newsFor gamers, publishers and manufacturers alike, E3 is the biggest conference to showcase their wares. Electronic Arts, however, is opting to do things a little differently. Perhaps taking a leaf out of Samsung's book, for the second year in a row, EA will hold a separate three-day long event ahead of E3.
Once again titled EA Play, the 2017 edition of the event is currently set to take place from 10-12 June, with E3 set to run from 13-15 June. At this stage, it's unclear what special titles EA will have in its locker, but the company's usual bevy of sports games will likely be on show. Added to this, Polygon notes that there will be live broadcasts, hands-on gameplay sessions and in-depth chats with developers and creators.
With the Xbox and PlayStation press conferences drawing the most attention in recent years, perhaps EA's pre-E3 move is a good one.
