Naughty Dog has a superb track record when it comes to role playing games that balance gameplay and narrative. The Last of Us was evidence of this, scooping several game of the year awards when it was released in 2013. As such, we're anxious to see if the the sequel, The Last of Us: Part II can deliver again, and now that we've seen the latest bit of gameplay footage at E3 2018, it seems more than likely.

The focus for the nearly 12 minutes of footage is Ellie, who has grown up quite a bit since the last game. Not only is she taller, but she's clearly well equipped to deal with the threats of this world.

We get to see her stalk enemies, take out multiple armed foes, as well as craftily use discarded items to make weapons. Added to this is a great amount of detail, with Ellie wiping the blood off a recently used knife, along with each different surface she climbs on producing a unique sound.

The action is bookmarked by two cut scenes, in which Ellie has an intimate encounter with another survivor, and showcasing that while she's been baptised in survival, she still struggles with human interaction.

There's no official word on when this game will be out, but we're happy to wait.
