If you're an avid Facebook Live user, there is a new function that may be of interest to you. Where third party software was once required, now Facebook Live allows users to share content on their desktop screen in real-time. The new feature was discovered by The Next Web, with the website noting that the feature should already be available to Facebook Live users, if not arriving within the next few days.

As detailed by The Next Web's Matt Navarra in the tweet above, the feature is available on desktop PCs or notebooks with web cameras (which most have these days), with an option under the FaceTime Camera tab marked Share Screen. If clicked for the first time, users will then be prompted to add an extension to their browser named Facebook Screen Sharing.

This new option is said to be available in the Chrome browser, but not Firefox. Also unclear is whether the functionality will be added to Microsoft Edge or Safari browsers any time soon.
