Here's the scenario. You go to a party with a couple of friends and enjoy yourself immensely. As has become the norm in the current digital age, you want to share all the pictures from last night via social media. But you can only share the pics you took, and not the ones you're featured in. That's where Facebook's new Moments app comes in, aiming to bridge the gap.

Syncing photos with the Moments app is a private way to give photos to friends and get the photos you didn’t take, according to Facebook. Moments groups the photos on your phone based on when they were taken and, using facial recognition technology, which friends are in them. You can then privately sync those photos with specific friends, and they can choose to sync their photos with you as well.

Furthermore, Moments also keeps all of your synced photos organised and lets users search through them to find the ones that you or specific friends are in. It also goes a step further, as users can create short photo montages in video format and share them with others to view. Added to this, is the ability to include music with your photo montages.
