Facebook's News Feed will push Live Videos to top of screen
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 2 March 2016 | Categories: newsFacebook's News Feed feature collates all the important posts from friends and pages you connect with on the social media platform. Live Videos also form a part of this, and now Facebook has given the News Feed a slight tweak that will push Live Videos to the top of the feed. This is in no way a revolutionary move, but indeed seems quite logical, especially as the point of Live Videos, is that they are directly broadcasted. Having them in the middle to lower portion of the feed makes very little sense.
The Live Video feature is exclusively for mobile users, with those toting an iOS device having it since January this year, and Android fans getting their own version a few days ago. For those unfamiliar with Facebook's Live Video, it allows users to broadcast straight from the Facebook mobile app, cutting out the use of a third-party app like Periscope and Meerkat. Whether it proves as popular as those two remains to be seen.
Facebook says Live Videos appearing at the top of the News Feed should be a feature users will see in action from today.
