Seeing that we’re still a long way off from Pacific Rim 2, and that 10 Cloverfield Lane wasn’t quite what we expected, we have to get our Kaiju fix in any which way possible. Therefore, let’s just say that as a first trailer, Colossal looks okay.

The question the movie poses, is what would you do if you realise that you have full control over the Kaiju that is currently destroying Seoul? Apart from recently breaking up with her boyfriend (Dan Stevens, Downton Abbey) and losing her job, poor Gloria (Anne Hathaway, Rachel Getting Married) is now having to face this additional, rather unique dilemma.

Also starring Jason Sudeikis (We're the Millers), the movie is helmed by Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo, who was responsible for the great Timecrimes. While we don’t really get to see the Kaiju in too much detail, it is described as a combination of Godzilla and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Groot.

How this tree-like lizard movie will turn out, we would have to wait till 7 April to find out when it opens in the States.
