HTC updates mid-range offering with announcement of the One A9s
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 1 September 2016 | Categories: newsClose to a year ago, HTC unveiled the One A9, the Taiwanese manufacturer's flagship space-filler of sorts before the HTC 10 was released earlier this year. Now the company has another device that sits on the cusp of mid-range and flagship: the One A9s.
In terms of specifications, the One A9s seems to look the part. Up front is a 5" LCD display, serving up an Full HD (1080x1920) resolution. Looking deeper, HTC has opted for a Mediatek Helio P10 processor, but the nature of its cores and clocked GHz speed are not fully known at this stage. Added to this, is the choice of 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM, depending on the model that consumers go for, as well as a middling 2300 mAh battery.
While the A9s appears well powered for mid-range consumers, the lack of design change compared to last year's A9 may not sway many into purchasing it - a problem that the HTC One M9 also suffered from.
As far as pricing and availability goes, HTC has not confirmed either detail at this stage.
