It's often said that the "the flame that burns twice as bright, lasts half as long." It's a pretty apt way to describe the life of 1950s movie icon James Dean. In this new biopic, titled Life, director Anton Corbijn (Control, The American) takes a look at the rise of the young star through the lens of photographer Dennis Stock. The film also tracks the development of their unlikely friendship, as well as who really made the other famous.

Playing the film star is Dan DeHaan (The Place Beyond the Pines, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), with Robert Pattinson (Water for Elephants, The Rover) taking up the role of Stock. Those familiar with Dean's life and subsequent death knows that he was one for taking chances and not following the status quo, which is one other aspect this biopic will hopefully explore. 

Life is set to hit cinemas next month in the United Kingdom, but a local release has not been detailed. Click on the trailer below to see whether DeHaan does Dean justice.
