Edge of Seventeen is a high school teen comedy. Wait! Don't close the page just yet. While we're a little too old for teen comedies, this one looks pretty decent. It has a solid cast, lead by Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) as an awkward teen, and Woody Harrelson (White Men can't Jump) as her bluntly honest teacher.

Whether it be bad hair days, even worse skin, overachieving siblings, friend's betrayal or the perilous world of sexting, there seems to be enough cringe and humour about this movie to make it enjoyable.

Hitting cinemas in the States in September, give the Red Band trailer (explicit language) a view, and see whether The Edge of Seventeen is worth your time.
