Huawei launches the Y9s in South Africa
By Staff Writer 7 February 2020 | Categories: newsHuawei has released the Y9s, which should cater to the demands of young and trendy consumers thanks to its advanced camera, ample storage and strong display capabilities. If you have R6399 to cough up, you will receive the following:
· 48MP Triple AI Camera
The Huawei Y9s boasts a Triple AI Camera setup. First is a 48MP main camera, while the 8MP Ultra Wide Angle camera delivers a 120-degree field-of-view, almost doubling the 78-degree viewing angle that traditional lenses offer. Finally, the 2MP depth camera assists in enhancing blurred backgrounds in images and videos by using professional bokeh effects.
· Advanced night mode photography
Huawei notes how the Y9s’ camera has a large sensor, which allows more light to enter while taking images or videos in poorly lit environments. This, together with the Huawei Y9s’ night mode that uses artificial intelligence algorithms, provides multi-frame noise reduction for night-time photography and videography. The night mode also allows for longer exposure shots of up to 6 seconds, improving image stabilisation and reducing issues caused by an unsteady hand or camera.
· Slick 16MP pop-up front camera
Adding a bit of a twist to the selfie game, the Huawei Y9s comes built in with a nifty 16MP front pop-up camera with advanced AI algorithms, AI backlit imaging and new AI beauty features. The front camera’s ability to recognise and optimise settings for up to eight scenes, and the studio-like effects with 3D portrait lighting, should also come in handy.
· Ultra FullView Display
The front pop-up camera removes unnecessary bezels from the Huawei Y9s’ front screen, allowing consumers to fully experience the device’s 6.59-inch Ultra FullView Display and 91% screen-to-body ratio. The Huawei Y9s also sports an FHD+ display with a resolution of 2340x1080, which can showcase up to 16.7 million different shades, allowing for a truly kaleidoscopic display of images.
· Large storage and advanced hardware
The Huawei Y9s is driven by the power-efficient and high-performance Kirin 710F chipset, which is equipped with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, with an option to expand to 512 GB storage (sold separately). The device also flaunts superior Extended Read-Only File System technology, giving it the ability to effectively save memory space, leaving more space for apps, songs and videos. The Huawei Y9s also sports a large 4000 mAh battery that powers the device for 1-2 full days’ usage, according to Huawei.
The Huawei Y9s can be purchased from Telkom for R6 399 or Huawei’s e-commerce store www.huaweistore.co.za
